All About US4A

The University School African American Alumni Association or US4A was founded with a mission to uplift and support young African American men pursuing education at University School and other private institutions. Recognizing the financial challenges that many families face, US4A is dedicated to easing the burden through scholarships and resources that make high-quality education more accessible. The idea was spearheaded by Cedric Thomas, who saw the need for a stronger support system for students and their families. He brought together a group of committed alumni from various graduating classes—including Andre Gould, Ken Surratt, Raymond S. Brown III, Travis Swoop, and many others—who shared his vision of giving back and fostering opportunities for the next generation.

Education is invaluable, shaping futures and opening doors to success, but the costs associated with private schooling can be overwhelming for many families. US4A understands these struggles and is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of deserving students. Through scholarships, mentorship, and strategic partnerships, the organization works to provide young men with the tools and support they need to excel academically and personally. By investing in students today,US4A is building a stronger, more connected community of leaders for the future.
